COLLEGE FOOTBALL 2017 CHAMPIONSHIP RACE

CFMinded College Football Championship Race 09-10-17

Six teams leaped ahead of the pack in the race for the college football championship: Alabama, Oklahoma, USC, Clemson, Michigan and Georgia. All have smooth sailing through mid-season, except Clemson has to go to Louisville next week.

Four leading contenders have fallen behind: Ohio State, Florida State, Auburn and Stanford. Florida State is probably done with the lost of their quarterback and a very tough schedule. The other three teams can get back in the race, since they have high ranked opponents ahead.

HEISMAN CANDIDATES IMPACT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Heisman Trophy candidates will define the 2017 college football national championships teams. Alabama has 4 candidates, Oklahoma has 3 candidates and  9 teams have 2 candidates. Two other teams are contenders for the championships with only 1 candidate, but they have the number 2 and the number 4 quarterbacks.

Alabama, The Bull – Florida State, The Cowboy

Boley, Oklahoma rodeos were a special treat in my youth. The announcement that never got old was, “Here is a bull that’s never been rode, and here is a cowboy that never been throwed.” Such is the Alabama – Florida State college football match up September 2, 2017.

Alabama is 5-0 in big game one match ups, and Florida State is 8-0 in big game one match ups.
